Parenting Workshops
In the year 2000, Valley Stream Pediatrics kicked off an exciting new program of Parenting Workshops. These workshops are limited to a group of 20 parents. Please call the office to register. There is no registration fee. These workshops are open to current patients only and will address a wide variety of parenting issues: from discipline to sibling rivalry.
We are very fortunate to have Dr. Martin Jacobs, a licensed psychologist, as our moderator. Dr. Jacobs is an Associate Professor of Counseling at the Queensborough Community College (CCNY), and has been in private practice in our community for over 20 years. Dr. Jacobs specializes in Child and Adolescent counseling, with focus on school and behavior problems.
The meetings last for 1 – 1/2 hours and have an open agenda.

Dietary Services
Valley Stream Pediatrics is very lucky to have our own Nutritionist, Olga Aizenfratz.
Olga Aizenfratz RDE, BS is a nutritionist who specializes in working with infants, children and adolescents. She will be working with us on Thursdays evenings from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and alternate Sundays from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. Olga helps patients with issues such as: Obesity, poor weight gain, difficulty feeding infants and toddlers, eating disorders, cholesterol and triglyceride issues, and many other nutritional issues.
Olga’s credentials include a bachelors in Nutrition from C.W. Post University and an internship in Nutrition from Stony brook University. Upon finishing the internship at Stony brook she worked at Mt. Vernon Hospital as a clinical dietitian there she lead the OB/GYN clinic and out patient clinic providing nutritional counseling to future mothers,
children, and adults with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight issues or renal diseases.
Olga is fluent in Spanish.
If you wish to schedule an appointment with Olga, please call the office. Most insurance plans will cover her services.
Note: There is a $25.00 cancellation fee applied to missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
